Meet chris

the beat maker

During my time in graduate school at NYU, I performed regularly as DJ Nodd at downtown nightspots in New York City, including Double Happiness and Orchard Bar. I have been producing my own music since 1997. My group Luno Collision--with my collaborator Peter Kane (DJ Lude)--released two recordings on Are U Ready? Records between 1999 and 2001. Since then, I have created solo recordings under the name Uno Collision.

My sound incorporates driving percussion and drums, chopped samples, field recordings, and atmospheric elements from jazz and electronic music.

The soundtrack album for my book, The Battle Nearer to Home, will be available on all major streaming services. The songs evoke the struggles, triumphs, frustrations, and resilience of activists who have fought tirelessly to create a more responsive and equitable educational system for Black and Brown students in New York City and beyond.
